Unrepresentative reviewing of OcUK on review sites

You can only find out how good or bad the shop is once you need to deal with some problems that you might have ie rma, returns, problem with delivery, wrong item delivered, telephone contact (if at all contactable by phone, waiting times,), email response times etc.

If I am not allowed to post negative feedback on these forums then that's fine with me as I am happily sticking to any rules OcUK have but I will keep the good feedback to myself too.

Posted a positive review from my experience! Been to the shop many a time, and not once have I dealt with or seen other people deal with rude or negative members of staff. They've always been very helpful and friendly!

Keep up the good work, everyone!

for an absolute fact that every member of staff will agree to, OCUK historically has had awful issues with RMA's which have seriously hurt confidence. They have also had problems with people being unable to get through on phones, e-mails unanswered for days etc.I can say this, as I have experienced all these, however with time it has started to improve.

Worst thing that happened to me was buying 2 sets of 2x1gb DDR ram. They were from different batches (one black memory chips, 1 green) and they were not compatible. I tried explaining the issue both over the phone and via e-mail but I was continually told that I was doing something wrong. In the end I sold one of the sets on eBay...

What people must remember though, people take good service for granted, and always rant when they get bad service.

Personally I like these forums but OCUK customer service is awful, actually I would even say non-existent. I guess it depends on your personal experience but I would never order from here again.

What total nonsense. Trolling isn't very clever you know. Now **** off.

That was years ago mate and only due to massive growth we couldn't cope with.

I get the phone stats daily and they are good. We haven't used email for maybe 5 years now. Webnotes have to get answered or the operator cannot read the next.

I understand people have long memories but most of the negative comments in this thread relate to matters years ago.

To be fair, I am not being biased due to my location but from behind the scenes the staff do fantastic work and yes things may not come to plan whatever the reason, from a fault in a product (which cannot be helped), or whatever the issue may be. However, every customer I have dealt with or seen being dealt with has always come back to us with a smile on their face because whatever the issue it is always resolved efficiently.

This.

Growing pains are very common for any company - they're good for the business bottom line but the level of staffing rarely keeps pace with demand and service inevitably suffers.

Add to that the genuine bad experiences (no-one is perfect so mistakes will happen and many things are entirely outside the shop's control anyway), the fact that you always hear more negative comments than positive (I've heard of a 7-to-1 ratio, though can't remember where I heard it), and the people who get banned and can't separate forum from shop.

My only bad experiences (save the old telephone/email niggles already dealt with) have been down to poor OEM service - which OcUK ended up remedying at their own expense.

type search into google's search bar and see which search site it top of the list?

Google shopping doesn't exist in Belgium nor does a lot of good initiatives.

Whenever I'm online (mainly l4d) I always get abuse because for having [OcUK]
Broken goods, bad delivery, terrible customer service are what most of them say to me. They always think I'm staff aswell so get thrown some abuse, it's a hard life :(

For every bad experience there are generally 100 good ones.

People only tend to sound off when they have a bad experience. It's the same in every industry where critique may be directed.

I've fallen into the traps of "trusting" reviews on IMDB of films which delayed me watching it or seeing at the cinema and instead getting it on DVD. Turns out for me the film was awsome and I could not of enjoyed it more.

One of OCuKs biggest advantages is quite frankly the community forum, a dire company with dire service does not house a forum in which a large amount of its content is about what it sells.

I've never had any qualms personally but fully appreciate some people may of. I get VAt dealt with appropriately, reasonable shipping and more often than not letter sized packages get to me next day on Royal mail 1st class which is testament to a fast picking and dispatch.

These days I rely less on other peoples opinions, do my own research on a shop/service/product, it's pricing and what I perceive to be their ability to meet my expectations. If they fail, they do not get my repeat custom.

I really don't get the poor customer service testimonies, I've RMA'd a **** of a lot of stuff to OcUK going back about 5 years, and it's always been a good service.

They don't ever give me a canned response and I've always spoken to someone who could handle my explanation of the problem. A mistake was made once and I ended up with an incompatible replacement, the guy I spoke to came to a flexible and very generous solution for me.

The smooth transactions and RMAs are why I often pay OcUK's slightly less cheap prices, they're so much easier than places scraping the bottom of the barrel to get the extra couple of quid off a graphic card's price.

There's nothing wrong with those of us who are happy going and making reviews if we are speaking about genuine experiences. A lot of the bad reviews are faked by the offended-by-proxy brigade as it is, annoyed at something Spie has said.

I always find that a lot of the bad things are like my friends mothers uncles aunties dad had a bad experience 3 years ago so any time somebody mentions said site i will warn everybody about them.

The few issues I've had with OcUK in the years I've used them have been resolved quickly and professionally. Unfortunately people usually only go to the effort of leaving feedback when it's negative. I'll leave some positive feedback :)
