GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD9 - Mobo to be released sometime in may (I heard) probably in US

I was speaking to Gigabyte yesterday (and got some exclusive shots of the UD9 ;)) and I mentioned the R3E. Of course they were quick to say that the UD9 was better but when asked about the price, they said it'd be £150 more so £450-£500 seems correct for retail.

can you post the pics

looks like a great folding mobo but slightly extreme for anything else.

The X58A-UD3 would be a far better choice me thinks.

when will you overclockers be selling this GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD9??????????????????
And I would say if you do get them in then you must do a overclocked bundle.
PS when is the GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD9 coming out in the uk??????

The price just has no true justification other than Gigabyte pushing their luck.

You forget though that Gigabyte have to pay silly amounts of money to Nvidia for the two NF200 chips and ridiculous licensing costs to offer 4-Way support.

This is why the R3E is going to need an expansion board that will push the combined price up to around the UD9.

Let's face it, we're not going to sell loads of these as it's only really useful for 4-Way SLI users. Any less and you'd be better with a UD7/R3E.

Oh aye, but who ever said the R3E had a justified price in the first place :p I may have brought one but I was nevertheless reluctant to let the money leave my wallet as I knew I was paying a premium because it is flagship board and it has "ROG" on it lol. The UD9 looks a smashing board but let’s face it they’re pushing their luck, they always do. Next year it will go up to 600-650 mark my words.
