I got a call me my folks today. They have had just under £5000 taken from their HSBC account.

They moved £3000 from one of their savings accounts, to the current account. Then looks like they bought something as it has a companies name by it. Global autofix (or something like that).

But they did not take everything.

Does anyone know what BP is by a transaction. eg DD = Direct Debit

Do you know how it was done yet?

If it was done via the web, go over to their PC and just format it now. And get them to reset every password they know.

Forgot scanning for malware etc just format it.

WE are not sure how it was done.

They have the latest NOD32 security suit, and ran virus scans with nothing.

Mums off to the bank on monday to sort it all out.

Have you asked her about the email she received that was requesting she update her bank details? Sounds like a classic phishing case to me.

just because you av does not find anything does not mean nothing is there... id run combofix over it or some other rootkit program...

Yeah give them a call if you haven't already. They'll freeze all their cards and forward the details you provide them on to the fraud depo. They can go in on Monday too, might speed up the process but they won't be able to tell you anymore in branch, probably less.

 I'd be on the phone reporting to sooner you report sooner you should hopefully get you money back. Defin ring up now!
