Street Fighter (SFIV, SSFIV, HDR)

i also noticed your blocking was pretty good!

Streeteh is always walking backwards when you jump in, which means you have to be more obvious with your crossups and he can spot it easier. It also means he can adjust ambiguous crossups to land any side he chooses.

Quite clever really.

Flattering comments to say the least, but i have to stress this sort of behaviour is induced by my complete lack of offensive play on my part. This in turn has been encouraged by Abels previously shocking anti-air which is now no longer an issue.

In essence, old habits die hard. When you play a good Abel player you'll see how incredibly lacking i am. I just don't play him as i should after the changes that have been made in SSF.

I suck, when Abel sucked that was fine as no-one else played as him. Now he rocks and everyone wants in on the ride and it's making me look like a numpty, bah!

I get back home from uni next week and I'll be getting back into SSFIV.

What's happened to Abel that he has an anti-air solution now? I haven't really been following the changes.

It's basically been buffed to hell and back. Cr.mk is now pretty reliable as opposed to being a trade at best, cr.hp is a beast if timed correctly and standing.mp is also excellent. The cream of the crop though is that CoD, if timed correctly against a jumping opponent, can be linked into a souless.

But, as usual, i know these facts but i can't put them into practice. Those who can't, teach i guess.

Ah, that's interesting. I was wondering why he's so high on the tier lists now. Thanks.

Just saw his new Ultra as well. It looks like a very fast dashing grab (a bit like Shungokusatsu) but it seems extremely punishing.

Has Sagat received any nerfs?

Many.

For the record, the current tier lists are very early. Don't forget that in SFIV Abel was considered top tier at first, then his weaknesses were made apparent. With that said Abel definitely rocks this time around, just don't take the current tiers as gospel at the moment as they will change.

ULTRA 2

its is very hard to punish.... he can delay it AND cancel it!!

I can't believe how stupidly good Guiles recovery is on sonic booms, I was able to anti air somebody after they jumped over a boom and they weren't even that far away.

Was that me? I distinctly remember doing a jump even before SB came out, and i still got anti-aired

Was mainly using Rufus with Ultra 2 to try stuff out with it. I didn't realise how good it was until the dojo folk told me. Though, against your style of play with Guile, Ultra 1 is the better choice i think.

I think marge is right about Guile, his clp cmp is definitely a lot easier now, it's on par with balrogs ex upper loops.

I disagree with this and think its actually harder (probably psychological though :p)

Need to look at the frame data and compare tbh.

Is there anyway to diagnose my TE stick to ensure that its not the problem? (i.e. button presses not being cut out etc?)

It was. :p

Hmm not sure if I trust the first one I don't think it's as good for punishing, plus with the second you can combo it after a flash kick trade. :D

Ok, how do i punish Bison and Blanka? I know that if Blanka does any form of ball attack i can punish with Ultra I, however that's the only punish i can figure out! Bison i can handle until he turtles into a corner and just keeps doing that jump attack, nothing i have seems to counter it and i can't get close.

Hmm weird.. just noticed that Bison can do his knee press and psycho crusher ending with down-forward. I thought all 'charge back' moves had to end with forward.
