Slightly warmer than usual today in the UK

The office is like an oven. I've got an i7 pumping out loads of hot air in to an even hotter room. Plus a 27" LCD monitor and Nad amp which feels like a hot plate ready to bbq a nice steak. So I've got a few decisions to make here

1) keep everything on, take all my clothes off and sweat away until I'm shrivelled as a raisin
2) turn everything off, still take all my clothes off and sweat away until I'm a shrivelled as a raisin
3) get something to cool the room down, and keep my clothes on :)

already got a desk fan that moves hot air around in circle, any one recommend anything?

Portable AC

Waste of time. Even if you go to the hassle of venting them properly, IME the portable units just can't cope with a home office environment as there's too much heat being generated.

Whilst our portable AC unit works fine to cool down a normal room, when faced with the office which has two people, two computers & four monitors all pumping out heat, it barely manages and takes hours just to knock a few degrees off.

Does manage to suck a lot of moisture out of the air though and lower the humidity, I'll give it that.

Not looking forward to going into the office tomorrow and sitting in the baking heat!

There are 5 people, god knows how many PC's (at least 2 each + spares!) and a portable AC that may as well be a wet fart machine. Shirt and ties as well! Gonna be passing out me feels.

The heat and the room with the computer getting the sun all day has already claimed an 8800GTS 512 as a victim. The heat in the shuttle is bad enough and now it's killed the card. Got a replacement card and now the PSU has given in to the heat xD

One gaming shuttle down, working from a netbook hooked up to a monitor and keyboard/mouse now :/

luckily watercooling is still keeping everything at decent temps, but christ it adds to the heat in the room massively!

need an AC methinks...
