Killzone 3 Revealed!

For the record, i killed Radec on the highest difficulty, probably the hardest thing i've ever achieved in gaming. He was stupidly difficult, but so satisfying to beat.

This :) although I did almost send the controller flying through my TV on more than one occasion!

Looking forward to this for the multi-player again. Had some great games and even a few clan games with the other OcUK dudes.

Single player wise I found it pretty average.

Changes I hope they make for the 3rd instalment are increasing the FOV and new weapon sounds, they just didn't sound destructive/violent enough for me.

Depends on how you think the game feels. I just couldn't stand playing it because of how off the aiming system felt. As I understand it, they introduced 3 patches to improve its functionality.

They introduced 3 patches to stop all the COD fanboys crying that they couldn't pick it up quickly enough.

The aiming system was fine.

Indeed, i actually preferred it after the 1st/2nd patch, the 3rd just made it too easy to aim so it became a game of 'whoever sees the other guy first wins'.

I would say the things that made KZ2 the best FPS of last year is the fact it wasnt a COD clone. Your POV wasnt some kind of Owl/Lizard hybrid, seemd to be fairly narrow as it is in real life, the guns had weight so you could sling it around like a stick, the bullets followed the reticule and didnt have super auto aim that made everyone a fantastic shot. To me people wanting KZ2 controls to change in the way they want is tend to mount making GT5/FM3 drive like an old need for speed or burnout game.

The aiming I had no issue with but totally disagree about the POV. It's like real life if you walk about with your hands at the side of your face. I felt it was as if your character had little to no peripheral vision.

I found Radec to be easy. The hard part was getting to fight him while you get swarmed by generic soldiers.

Stand on the balcony, back to the corner.. Wait for him to teleport infront of you and unload. He'll disappear.. Turn around briefly and he'll reappear infront of you, so give him some more lead sandwiches.

I prefer the shooting mechanics of KZ2. The recoil was unforgiving if you like to spray, which I can see a lot of people hating, but popping off bursts and taking down enemies is satisfying. The build up to the last battle actually seemed intense on the harder difficulties.. Battling through waves of enemies while you inch up to the building was the highlight for me.

One complaint for me would be the annoyingly "jock" nature of your team. I wanted them to die after the 100th battle cry / trash talk.
