Asus set to release 27" 120Hz 3D ready monitor.

I'm all for hardware diversification in terms of looks, but does this strike anyone else as something that tries hard to look 'futuristic' in the 90's... and fails ? :p

Yup. I think the perspexy border at the bottom is actually repulsive. I have nothing against plastic borders and infact I find them quite attractive if used properly - but that looks seriously nasty.

Gotta love the forum bandwagon that everyone seems to jump on when someone says something looks bad lol :P

Gotta love people who make ridiculous statements like that instead of just saying they like something that the majority of people seem to dislike.

Heaven forbid people are genuinly agreeing on something.

I really think it looks pretty nice and modern.

I'm wondering if the people who think it looks nice are just not speaking up OR if i need to get on ebay asap and buy some taste?!

I can't decide!

That could well be the case... but it could also just be the fact that people don't want to admit liking it since everyone else has already professed to hating it lol

Its like telling all your mates that you really fancy an ugly chick... who does that? lol

(Not in consecutive order)

A-soos: "This particular monitor, nvidia assisted with the design"

Interviewer: "To my knowledge this is the first time I've ever seen a 1080p solution...for the desktop monitor"

A-soos: "As far as I know, we'll have the first...urgg...1920 by 1080 monitor available"

Looks tacky, but nice to see things progressing. I assume this is based on a TN panel, from the quoted 170/160 viewing angles?

i guess it has to be TN-panel thank god with 170/160, otherwise it'd be a 120hz with catastrophic input lag no doubt.

One legged man in an ass kicking competition, anyone?

Its all good making these 3D monitor things but the Nvidia (and any other maker) glasses are a complete annoyance for some people...

I wear glasses, nothing abnormal about that but I dont like contact lenses as I find they hurt for a good 30 mins in the morning after putting them in so for the 3D setups they prove useless as I cant put the 3D glasses over my normal glasses...

Why couldnt they find another way to make 3D gaming setups without the stupid glasses, that also look like cheap Oakley's.

What I would like is a 27" 1920 x 1200 low ms gloss panel monitor...

My HP w2408h is awesome but I still want bigger!:D

But that Asus with the bottom panel is ugly! And without its nice and clean looking:)

Unless you're wearing some 80's super special national health ultra thick rimmed glasses you should be fine with the 3D ones :p

I've had several people that wear glasses try my 3D vision kit out with no problems whatsoever.

You do realise they come with various different nose pieces that enable you to adjust to your needs?
