Who do you guys host with?

I find it bloody hard to believe that I paid only £40 a year for smugmug which is based on the other side of world.. yet TSOhost who are less than 10 miles distance from me and when running Gallery2/3 is about 5x slower than smugmug. I must be doing something wrong as I am paying £30 a month with TSOhost, I have checked out coppermine but wasn't that impressed.

What are others using as a platform for galleries?

Zenphoto is my gallery software of choice.
 
Even though you know but others might read here for options too, I use PHPWebHosting, never had a problem, and been with them for years, awesome service.

Thanks for pointing me to this I've had it installed for a few hours now on my clustered TSOhost service. I transferred 700 images into the album directory via FTP and it is working brilliantly, much faster than Gallery2/3.
 
Think I'm going to go with qiq. They confirmed their PHP version is 5.2.11, they confirmed this at 2am about 15 minutes after I submitted the ticket, this pretty much sold it for me :)

Now....to get my site and domain moved :o.....surely if I swear at it enough that'll work? :D

I don't know what version of php they're on but they've had 5.2.6 or higher for over a year now (reg1 need to get with the times :p).

Their customer service is great in my experience and everything seems to get done quickly.

But then I am probably the least demanding customer ever and use about 2% of the functionality of my hosting.

For me it's just website hosting, ftp'ing, err a couple of email accounts. About it! :)
 
I'm with QiQ, picked up a 2 year contract for 99p on one of their special offers. I;m so happy with it i'll happily pay the £19.99 they'll charge when it goes back to normal after the 2 year period.

I've seen these offers a few times. Keep an eye out.

Also they helped me solve my transfer issues extremely quickly. Awesome service. They handle my emails, some FTP and my site. I also run a VPS but use that mostly for tunnelling, although also get decent bandwith on it.

I'll have a chat with him as well and see if he can offer the same price as I'm paying (£3 a month instead of £5 - every little helps!).
 
Vidahost here £17 notes a year free help line which are open till 11 at night down to earth lads never had to wait on the line also i called them at 1 mins too 11 one night and they answered thats the truth just awesome support.
