Why so many stupid reviews approved?

There are many products reviewed on the OCUK website, but many of them just contain ludicrous reviews like "Plays Doom 1 really quick" and other not remotely funny "jokes"

Why do the OCUK even approve these stupid "reviews", they are not funny and people want to see genuine user reviews of the products, not plough through stupid comments

Examples - from the review of the 980x CPU

"This CPU's performance is simply amazing.

As soon as I'd finished my build and installed the OS, I booted up calc and entered 98 x 44. It answered with 4312, just like that! No lag or wait whatsoever!

This simply is a must for all overweight, spotty virgins who still live with their parents. You won't be disappointed!"

They are not remotely funny, unless you're around eleven years old - Why are OCUK staff approving them?

Personally i never read the reviews on there anyway. I prefer to get my reviews from trusted sites that know what they are talking about.
 
Although sometimes I smile when I read them, they aren't always helpful to those who are sincerely looking into buying new components. Still, most of the reviews are generally useful.
 
Maybe you just need to lighten up abit? :D. Although I do see where your coming from it obviously isn't the point of reviews.

While some of us find them funny, people that do not use te forums will just look at at and treat the site as a joke. Does not do any favours for their image and makes them look unprofessional IMO. I would rather trust a ***** camp then a OCUK review and im pretty sure that was not their intent, nothing to with bashing as their service has been spot on everytime so far for me. Maybe they can lookinto just posting factual reviews regarding the product only.

What more can i say but OMG , i sold my mum to buy this chip and all i can say is what a fantastic chip i have clocked it from 3.3GHZ to 100MHz out of the box and now it feels like im using my orig pentium 90MHz Pro from the 1993 , on top of that i have teamed it up with a intel GMA 3000 on board graphics and 512MB of DDR memory and using my 52K modem i am lagging like hell shooting people in crysis , i am playing on a max resolution of 640 x 480 on my 50hz 14 inch CRT monitor and getting an impressive 1 frame and hour in game.

This is well worth the money like all PC parts its just a shame its outdated from the min its published on this website and others.

5 Stars this is worth every penny if you want to get fat and die young without making any real friends and having no life , this is the virgins chalice of computer parts.

I find it actually astonishing that someone can actually believe that these kind of reviews are genuinne?

Maybe thats the same kind of person as those that "Fall off ladders onto cucumbers" in the local hospital.
 
lets be honest, no1 is going to believe those reviews. in order to be stupid enough to believe them you would then be too stupid to remember to breath. those types of review are just stupid, pointles and a waste of the authors time, tho they and their prepubescent pals probably thought it was hilarious.:rolleyes:

This is exactly what i think, they only ruin the credibility of OCUK on the whole. I find it amusing that i have posted negative reviews before on products that have not made the website, yet "funny" and totally useless comments like these are approved.

It's nothing to do with not having a sense of humour, it simply doesn't fit with a respected, professional online computer store.

I do find it rather strange that any adult would find these reviews genuinely funny - most likely the same kind of people who find "You've Been Framed" absolutely gut wrenchingly hilarious.

How long does it take to approve a review ? I reviewed a product I bought 6 days ago and it still hasnt appeared and it wasnt a jokey review.
