Hi all my neighbour's 1989 Mini Mayfair (Cooper Badged) was stolen on Friday night. Just wanted to post up some info to anyone who is buying a Mini/parts/is in the mini scene

Reg is F440 LAM, although they're probably off by now. Reg etched on windows.

BMW cool Blue with a black roof and webesto sunroof, matt bonnet

Full mk 1 conversion

12" shallow dish chrome & black minilite wheels and black & chrome wheel arches.

Stolen from Beckenham South East London area

I'll try and get a picture off him, and possibly a VIN number

He had only just recently got it all restored and on the road and was very much cherished.

If anyone is in the Mini club or similar could they post this up on a forum for him?

Cheers guys.

Hmmm...you seem to know an awful lot about it...my spidey senses are tingling...

Admit it, it was you, wasn't it?

Do you think the thief pinched it because they were after a Cooper?

I wonder if it would still have been pinched if it wasn't badged as a more desireable model?

I doubt they care to be honest, they probably want the shell and maybe to sell the bits on it.

It's fairly irrelevant really, an early 90s cooper isn't worth significantly more than a tidy non-cooper these days. I imagine it was stolen for the shell and various new parts.

On top of that, there aren't any F reg coopers on the road that I know, earliest pre-production reg'd models are G reg iirc....

They probably want all the nice bits he put on it
