windows 7 on laptop and desktop?

On XP you could use the same licence for a laptop and a desktop.
Anyone know if that still works for windows 7?

No, I dont think you can unless you have the 3 user licence (Im sure this is the same for XP) or do it the illegal way.

the situation is still the same as with XP as regards to it working but not being legal (legit)

Right, You didnt need the 3 user thing with XP, I had no problems with just using the licence on the back of one of my lappys with one of my PCs, windows update still worked and everything, anmd it would allow me to register the XP

Actually i thought i read on the windows website back in the day you can install xp on both laptop and desktop, but i might have just made that up, not sure.

As far as i have known, its has always been 1 licence per PC (or 1 per laptop).

You can/could do it, just its not legal in the eyes of Microsoft!

I tried this, you can't do it. As Microsoft decided to unactivate my laptop. Back to XP for me then.
