I cannot decide between the two and would like some peoples opinions.

They are basically the same price and I have read JohnnyGuru's reviews of them both and he rates the Corsair as the better unit. However, I'm not expecting to upgrade again for 3, 4 or even 5 years and wonder whether I might live to regret not getting the 1000w 80a over the 850w 70a.

I have an i7 @ 4ghz and will be adding either dual 470's or 5870's money permitting. I know either unit will handle these no problem but I'm looking to the future.

I know no one can predict it but generally fabrication processes get smaller and power requirements seem to stay about the same, Am I ever really going to need that extra power? I'm not looking to go Tri / Quad SLI or XFire.

My personal prefrence would be the Corsair. Both units will do what you need easily, but having used both in builds, the corsair has much longer cables, making cable managment easy.

Quite a lot of corsair and seasonics are essentialy the same psu's, seasonic manufacture some of the corsair range, other corsairs are built by chanel well tech (cwt) as are some of the thermaltake range.

If I did want to add another GTX470 for Tri-SLI (although I'm almost sure I wont) Might I be taxing it a little much?

What are the limits nowadays?
