A thought

You don't own a supercar to break the speed limit on the A38... Theres plenty of fun to be had on many of the awesome B roads around the country. Plus there is track days etc and just the general enjoyment you'd get from ownership even down to cleaning it.

No, because the novelty wears off.

Many of us here own 150mph+ cars. Hardly any of us do 150mph anywhere.

It's the same principle.

Not really, the more power you have and the more refined it is, the easier it is to do big speeds, in something like an LP640 for instance it takes a LOT of restraint not to do 100mph+ everywhere, because you'll be into illegal speeds by the time you are out of 2nd gear.

I don't think many LP640 owners cruise at 145mph on the Motorway, somehow.

On a side note, I would have been going in the opposite direction around that time, probably passed you on the other side of the road.

while my car is nowhere near a supercar it can still break the motorway speed limit by over 100mph

however I never go anywhere near that speed but still have loads of fun, the real enjoyment comes from a decent twisty back road

oh and zooming past schools at 80mph at 3.30 pm :p

The point i am trying to make is if you cant exceed the speed limit at the best of times, then you never can.

Its easy to say you would keep to 70 in a 550+hp beast but i doubt you would unless you had cruise control on.

Im suprised mr traffic cop didnt have better things to do like helping the normal police police the drunks in Plymouth!

Tute...you should have waved :D

surely something like a BMW 750i is going to feel more refined at 140mph than a supercar with its raw V8* power, i wouldn't have said refined, easier to get there yes.
