Is it possible to use a HD5450 just for HDMI audio?

Okay lets just say with your gaming/media pc you have a 280 and you want some hdmi bitstreaming audio on the cheap could you:

buy the cheapest ati 5 series card
plug it into the other pci-e slot
install only the hdmi audio driver
connect it to the av receiver via hdmi

And bam done all working good?

i have a 4850 and a 5870 coming tomorrow both this HDMI u mentioned

does it mean i can use this as a sound card and not my onboard sound?

Yeah I was using the 5870 in my gaming/media pc for a bit and yes the hdmi audio was perfect, preferred it to my sound card let alone onboard BUT BC2 was released and my 5870 had to go in my main gaming PC and so here I am!
