What car to get?

After some old man foolishly kangaroo'd out of a car park into the side of my car, i'm just waiting on my settlement cheque to come through but am trying to decide what to get now.

I think i'm decided that i want to get onto the jap turbo ladder and so far have mainly been looking at Celica GT-Four's. Ideally i'm looking for an st205, if not a clean example of an st185.

Main thing at the moment is insurance. I'm not prepared to pay over £1k which does limit me. Celica come's out at just under £1k for a UK spec one.

Just wondering if anyone has any other ideas on jap cars to look at?

Budget for car is as close to £2k or under as possible by the way.

Thanks,

Andy

2k for an ST205, can that even be done? They aren't massively cheap to run either.

It's a bit tricky as most cheap jap stuff like that (Imprezas etc) would probably cost over your budget for insurance :/

How does a 200sx come out on the insurance?

Your budget is a bit concerning if that's reflective of your overall budget for owning and running the car. Service costs, fuel economy and repairs are unlikely to be cheap and 2 grand won't get you much of anything half decent. Can you stretch the budget?

It can be done yeah, they crop up time from time.

I have a budget for running the car, i can service it and do the repairs etc...

I could probably stretch to £2500 at a push.

I could quite easily get a st202 Celica GT, but i'm wondering if down the line, i would be wishing i had a turbo.
