GTS250 to 5770 - Decent upgrade?

A bit faster but depends on the game and resolution, the 5770 is roughly around GTX260 performance (slightly slower overall tho not by much)

EDIT: Looks like with newer drivers the GTS250 comes on quite a bit... as an idea in RE5 benchmark at 1920x with 4x AA:

GTS250 gets 55fps
5770 gets 63fps
GTX260 gets 67fps

Tho in some games its not quite as hot as the other 2 cards

I updated my post a little as my information was a bit old - having checked benchmarks with 197.xx and 257.xx drivers the GTS250 isn't hugely far behind the 5770 in quite a lot of games, tho the 5770 does pull substantially ahead in a handful of games and obviously has DX11 advantage.

For games like Modern Warfare 2, etc. the GTS250 can still put up pretty good performance, if you want to upgrade you'd probably be better off looking at the 5850.

either a 5850, or invest in a second gts250 for sli until next gen dx11

THIS, another GTS250 will be a lot cheaper than a 5770 and in sli they will outperform a 5770, in fact they will outperform a 5850 too at 1920*1080 until the AA hits 8x and even then their not that far off

Well i do have a SLI capable board so another GTS250 is an option, but i have one of the 'green edition' GTS 250 cards at the moment and ive noticed it dosent have an SLI connector on it.

I may just hang on to what i have now and see how it goes really unless i get a cheapy 2nd hand GTS250 or GTX260
