Unix is a stable operating system, proven over time.
DOS code is still in Windows code which is why Vista was a disaster. Windows 7 is just a sticky plaster over Vista, the OS still is built on DOS written by Bill Gates as a teenager over 25 years ago. No company can survive when there is so much better competition nowadays.
No it isn't. Certain software is only available on Windows, particularly in the business world. Free Linux alternatives don't cut it for a lot of people.

XP is the greatest piece of OS going. I am still on it and refuse to upgrade to anything else.
windows xp is pretty damn good I must confess. I'm on 7, but I HATE the search feature. The search in XP was the best ever, so user friendly![]()
