Cheapest way to get to Las Vegas?

How far in advance did you book that £480 direct flight Fox?

Other than visiting the strip for a day at a casino, what else is there to do? I've heard about Gun Shops/clubs, I'm thinking a skydive, possibly hire a plane and maybe visit some sights?

Spending money for a week like that, you think $1000 would be enough?

A day on the strip  try 4 as a minimum

My miisus did a skydive put there and I have been to the Gun Store on Tropicana a few times which is fun

If you intend doing the stuff you mentioned then no $1000 is nowhere near enough however if you took things reasonably steady then it could be

Haha, well a friend has just moved out to live there for 3 years. I'd stay at his apartment which has a 2 or 3 bedrooms and a pool so would be with him for the week (I'm presuming free, or maybe a meal out or something). It wouldn't be high paced, probably 5-8 days with a main 'thing' we'd go and do or see each day. I'm wondering if flying is much cheaper out there than it is here? And what sort of planes we could hire..?

No idea re flying but there are loads of small private airfields, skydiving was relatively cheap, about $170 iirc

Just a quick add up and I think I have spent 77 days there in last few years

September for me

Is pic inside "Nine Fine Irsihmen" ?

What did you get up to ?

Arrived the day before St. Patricks, didn't do a lot since we didn't get to the MGM till about 7:30pm. Checked in, checked out the room (got a free upgrade to bungalow suite because we just got married) and headed downstairs. Simply amazing, couldn't believe just how big the place was. So first night, just had a few drinks, played a few slots.

Second day was St. Patricks. So headed out early-ish and walked down the strip. Got breakfast at the H. Market. The pic is from outside the Nine Fine Irishmen, on the bridge. They had the whole thing set up with band(s) and stands selling the tat (hats etc.). The band(s) were there on from the time we went out in the morning till we crawled into bed at night. They also have a parade downtown in the day. The bottle I had in that pic was my first "big" drink or many. $5 refill, but to be honest I had been on the booze all day so only had the one, lol. Vegas folk really do like St. Paddys day, deffo check out going for that date.

Over the next week we just checked out the strip, shops, Stratasphere etc. We also did a coach trip for the Grand Canyon, which was a whole day. Collected at something like 6:30am and got back around 9pm. Was well worth it, only $80 per person. Fed twice and had a great driver. GC was amazing, as was Hoover.

Did Cirque one night at the MGM, simply awsome! Got 40% off too for being guests of the hotel.

We did check out most of the other resorts though, some of them are amazing. Some of them seem very tacky. But it was our first time in Vegas and next time we would have a better idea of where to go, what to do. We did plenty of foody places, plenty of casinos, plenty of bars. Was really top!

Anyone that reckons they can do Vegas in a couple of days is deluded! Oh, and you WILL have knackered feet after a week, lol

Now all I gotta do is save some cash and go back! :D

Booked it about a month ago. It's still available at £482 if you go a bit later in the day but I specifically wanted the morning flight which seems very busy and is now almost fully booked hence the now huge price.

I can see the £482 price and I've looked at booking separate connections for about £90-£100

So it's not too bad really, could bus it? I don't drive so it's either fly, bus or hope for a lift..

At that you may as well fly direct

Check the Virgin Miles plus money rates

If you don't have any miles you can usually buy them for less than you save

If you don't have an account you can't check so post the dates and I will check for you

I don't, and thanks for the offer. :)

The possible dates I've been looking at so far are a week from the 6th of September to the 13th. (providing my new uni course doesn't start too soon)..

no availabilty those dates unfortunately

for the record on later dates the cost is £493

the miles will cost £30 per person plus £15 admin fee

Was looking a while back and it was around £400 for the flight assuming you picked the right day (try different stuff, flying on a different day can easily add £200+ to the fare), one stop.

However prices seem to have rocketed up of late, thanks to the surging dollar and oil prices. Looks like £470+ for the kind of itineraries I'm looking at.
