Hi
Now that a few of you have had this handset for a while now, can any of you still recommend it??
My contract is up for renewal shortly and I was going to get a black X10. Since I heard that its getting Android 2.1 in a few months its became better looking choice all the time.

Hi,

Id recommend the handset, as i am still over the moon with mine. It performs all the tasks I need from a moblie device very well. Plus unlike the handset i had before this one its very good in weak signal areas.

The 2.1 /2.2 update is due shortly which should greatly improve the handset.

If you are looking at getting a X10 id recommend you get a unbranded handset from CPW etc... As some of the branded ones are still running old firmware. :D

Vlad, when I get home I can show what the camera and videos are like (went to my first football match last night :-D, England game)

X10 Mini & X10 Mini Pro should be due out next week. :D

Hhhmm may be unrelated. Four hours after charge and it is on 50% (10 mins on internet, 2 mins of GPS and a 2 minute call). Wonder if it didnt charge properly? I did update APNDroid.

i sometimes have days like this and then other times the battery lasts nearly 2 days. very strange ! wonder whats causing it ?

on another note modaco paul has started working on the x10 again and seems to be getting somewhere with it

Got my x10 back from T-mobile, unable to repair, not covered by warranty due to excessive force. USB connector has come away from the PCB (lifted the pads off too). I've been offered a £5 reduction on my monthly bill. Absolutely furious! I'd only had it a month and I did not do anything that could be remotely considered excessive force/

1. No, from what i have read they are fine.

3. The handset comes with one pre-installed

4. I've not seen any on the market yet.

I hope this helps, if you need any info just ask :D

no way id stand for that. how did they come to the conclusion that you must have forced it off ? rather than thinking that it may just not of been attatched to the pcb as well as it should. all it would take is one half dodgy solder

its your word versus theres and i dont see how they can prove that it was done by force

Emailed then T-mobile customer complaints investigation department last night, got a call from them this morning. New phone is on it's way, should arrive tomorrow.

Take a look at the picture of the workings of the palm pre inductive charger back cover here:

http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Palm-Touchstone-Charging-Kit/810/1

Now take a look at step 4 of the X10 disassembly process here:

http://www.xperiax10.net/2010/05/10/xperia-x10-disassembly-guide/

That little bit of removable plastic has two contacts on that match up to the two in the bottom right of this picture:

Place holder for an inductive charging backplate? or am I grasping at straws?

Right now: nothing.

When I have my replacement in hand I'll be using the spare battery as a backup for times when I know I'll be away from power. I'll probably keep the rest for spares.

Id recommend sending it off to SE, as they should be able to repair it. :)

Took some more pictures with my X10, my first football match :D

(Had to resize to 640x480 :( but the pictures came out pretty well)

Had anybody got any good sources for wallpapers? Specifically after motors!

All the pics I find don't fit the resolution to well!
