I have an Omega De Ville ladies watch that I am looking to sell. I was wondering if anyone knew where it is possible to get the best price for it eg. online dealers, high street jewellers etc.

Thanks

Personally I'm not a fan of Omega watches, so I'm not sure where you would get the best price, but I wouldn't touch high street jewellers.
I would go to a reputable family owned jeweller where you will get a better service, usually they try their best to get you a good price.
http://www.blowers-jewellers.co.uk/ will do an estimate for you based on the information you supply, can then use this to get a bench mark value and go somewhere local to you.

You may get a decent price by selling it at an auction.

I picked up a Omega Speedmaster GMT Broad Arrow for a decent price at auction, although it was in as-new condition. The condition really dictates how much you'll get for it.

I sold my Omega Seamaster at Watchfinder (http://www.watchfinder.co.uk/) a couple of weeks ago.
You can either sell it them directly, or choose to place it on their site and you'll get paid as soon as it sells. They'll take a comission on this second option but you'll get a decent amount more for the watch.
In my case I decided to on the latter and mine sold within a week. It took a while to sort out payment as the watch needs to get prepared, then the buyer has 7 days distance selling regs, but after that I got my cheque through.

They do require that you pay for a professional clean and polish (which gets rid of all scratches on the bracelet) and then it's examined by their service staff. Mine needed a new glass, but all this work is then deducted from the selling price. Basically they're getting the watches in as perfect condition as possible for selling.

Naturally you could sell your watch on an enthusiast forum where you can obviously maximise your profit, but I went for the 'easy' option!
