Marmite photo - comments please

Took this on a stroll last night, can't decide if I like it or not, perhaps it might be better if there was a couple in the foreground holding hands.

Lovely light at this spot in the evening.

Hmm I like the shot, but i think its cause it looks unusual. A bit tilt shiift where it seems there is an odd focus, (applied by you?) Half the trees are in focus, on the same plane. Tis weird.

Yeah I was having a play :p, decided it looked funky so kept it
 
Yeah it does add to it in a way, A strange dreamy like effect, maybe a bit more punch on the brightness or a brighter layer on screen mode might look quite cool.
 
Maybe just make it less noticeable, for instance on the trees on the left, about half way down the trunk. Just soften the line a bit. So that the focus runs down the path.
 
I quite like it, but then I like tilt shift. It does give an "alternative" effect :)

What about a crop, from the left side of the path to just past the bench on the right?
 
Bit softer and following the line of the path instead of straight up, this is way more fun than doing work. Suppose I'd better do some ah well

I like the TS effect, I would definitely boost the exposure/brightness though, seems a bit dark. Maybe even a little fill light would do the trick.

I think that could look lovely with a different set of people in the shot. I think I prefer the landscape crop over the portrait one, although the composition is more technically correct in Rojins crop, but I think losing the trees arching right over the shot is what appeals to me in this. Think you are gonna need to revisit matey ;-)

good thing it's only a 2 minute walk then, think I agree though. I'll have to stand there non nonchalantly tonight until a couple passes :p

If its any consellation I have several places on my revisit list for that very reason; sadly they are not 2 mins away :-)

You up for some shots one evening next week if the weather is okay? Mud/Rojin?
 
I am but I can only do the end of the week (Thursday\Friday) as I'll be in Enfield at the start of the week. Obviously go ahead if you can all get together earlier.
 
How about we provisionally just book for Friday evening? If the weather is rubbish, we can just reschedule. I will message you both on Flickr over the weekend to work out details etc.
