Any one watching the new series?

Best day of the week, friday - Judgement Day!

Best food show on tv i;d have to say, but awful annoying during the week, when there is no judgement! Does make friday all the sweeter though.

I've watched a few episodes this week, looking forward to tonight. There you go, your first non sympathetic reply :D

I cant stand Sat Baines, he is a tool.

But the judges are so far up his backside its impossible for him to loose this week.

Last year, all day to boil an egg!

Edit, saying that the judges have just handed his pretentious arse to him on a plate over his starter.

Not sure who the hairy one was but he could sure cook. I'm definitely going to borrow his idea of serving crème brûlée in an egg shell - perfect photographic material.

He'll have to ditch the eel dish though - not quite sure where his head was at with that one.

I am just starting to go through the series on iPlayer.

Sat Baines, Strawberries and Stilton...................OK.

i really like this show, it's pretty much the only thing i watch other than sport! i'm not really feeling these 2 chefs though, glynn won me over with his food last week i thought he was really good. sat bains got slated - i was going to go to his place for my birthday meal, not sure now!

i missed the desserts yesterday, but i don't reckon either of these 2 will make it further, their food all seems a bit boring really. i reckon the bloke will go through though (providing his food doesn't totally suck) as that white haired judge really liked his food in the lead up to it.

Hideous bump! Anyone watching the latest incarnation? I think Tristan (sp) deserved to go home, he just seemed too relaxed. Friday is judging day and the best day! The judging panel is awesome.

It's interesting that they've decided to use other chefs to judge them this year. Could be a source of some professional needle if not done carefully I think. Some of the judges work well i.e. Marcus Wareing. Not so sure about the camp one earlier in the series. I think Jason Atherton is ok (except he keeps saying 'the menu what they've done' etc. :p) but I disagree with his scoring of 5 for Tristan's ham egg and chips. That said, I suppose I didn't taste it so...

The only problem I really have with this show is that I'd wish they'd make each one an hour long or at least 45 mins, so they can explain more about the methods they use.

They could do that easily in 30 mins if they cut out all the repetitive Jenny Bond rubbish.

Agreed. I watch it on iplayer and skip about 10 minutes because there's 2 mins of jenny repeating, then another 5 of the judges saying what they're looking for in the dishes for the banquet that I've heard 100 times already.

I understand the public love to see people voted off, but I think it would be better to have all 3 chefs faces the judges on Friday. Several times so far a chef has got a high score during the week only to be given a bad mark by the judges on Friday (and vice versa). They could be missing out on some great dishes based on one persons opinion.

Yep brilliant, although haven't been tat impressed this year.
Some truly poor attempts, especially on dessert.

Yeah would also like the old format of three chefs infront of teh judges. I see no need for this new format,

Yeha and why name the places and stock aerial/side photos every two minutes. show us teh produce being made, same in teh kitchen, less talking and more showing us teh cooking.

Got to say I think the best food show on at the moment is Man vs Food.
Number of good places, which actually spend time making all there stuff. The qaulity looks awesome, not just the serving size.

I've watched a few episodes and to be honest I can't stand to watch any more. The reason is, as stated above, is when Jenny Bond starts waffling on for god knows how long! I prefer Master Chef to this show but then even that show is annoying with all the one liners.
