Supermarket fuel price war

Woo.

Morrison's just over the road from me now.

Shame the Shell garage within eyesight is still 3-4ppl more :( It's a franchise, rather than a proper Shell, so is rarely competitive on prices :(

Also a shame, given that I really need SUL for my VR-4, and those two are my closest petrol stations.

Ugh. I just paid 121.9 for "common brew" 95 Ron at a Shell, although this was just outside the centre of London :(.

I've really got to try out this Tesco 99 Ron stuff if it isn't that much more. V-power was 128.9!.

No ill effects from the commoners fuel yet, but I'd rather run super just to be sure.

Shell I normally fill up at is 127.9 for VPD.

However Tesco are doing the 5p off vouchers so i'm running alternating tanks of VPD and Tesco. I believe Tesco are 120.9 for Diesel, making it 115.9 with the voucher.

Oh I had to put some regular BP unleaded in yesterday, I feel like such a peasant now! :p ...the only difference I have noticed though is that the car sounds a bit better when you boot it, it's got a bit more ...rasp than when it's on V Power :p

why did i repeat it or why did the price go down? i repeated it to confirm that that is in effect in this part of the south east

No competition round my way, standard fuel in Morrisions is still 119.9 per litre, many, many years ago they used to compete with a petrol station just opposite till they bought it out and turned it into a car jetwash place.

Really quite convenient, i never go anywhere near a morrisons, but there is one right next to our office which by pure coincidence i had to stop by at yesterday, i was also running on fumes.

113.9 almost feels like good value these days :(

I always use Shell V-Power because its the best fuel you can buy in the UK, my car is a Japanese import and was mapped for 100RON fuel so If I use standard unleaded the knock sensor will adjust the timings and lower performance, BP/Sainsburys super unleaded is only 97RON and Tescos super unleaded is low quality crap

I pay $1.92 (89p) a litre for 98 RON here. It was $1.79 (83p) a few months ago :(

That's at an exchange rate of £1 : $2.15. A year ago, the conversion rate would have been much, much cheaper than 89p or 83p.

It is - the quoted performance and economy values are subject to the use of 98 RON fuel. This is quite clearly explained in the user manual.

Ah fair enough. Whats the loss with the knock sensor on 95 ron?

Still paying £1.31 a litre here in Malvern for Texaco SUL :( Shame Morrisons decided to install biodiesel pumps as opposed to SUL when they refurbished the petrol station last year! (I've never seen anyone buy any of it):(

I have had several of these cars, i couldn't tell the difference after playing around with fuels at all.

I don't doubt that the manual is correct and that there is a gain, but in reality its undetectable ime.

The price of fuel in Malvern is always stupid. I am there a lot as my girlfriend lives there and I make a point of never filling up there.
