My new project, 190e 2.6

Very comprehensive advert that, good luck with the sale.

What you going to get next?

Some of those sentences seem very familiar :p :D

HAHA, I did wonder whether you'd notice! You seem extremely adept at writing detailed adverts so I thought I would base it loosely around one of yours. I hope you don't mind :o

I run a punto alongside this car, so I will always have transport should I need to go somewhere. Its very practical for day to day use. So I figure why bother running something that is great as a daily but not especially great as a drivers car.

To that end, I want something a lot more focused, with great steering feel, something well engineered, and simple. Throttle response, gearbox sharpness, steering feel, and handling is what i'm looking for. Those are the things that I enjoy most when driving. The 190e doesn't exactly tick any of those boxes to be honest :p

Looking at mk2 golf gti's and mx-5's at the moment, possibly an e30 325. Any other idea's welcome, as I'm really not sure at the moment.

I had a few e30 325's when they were a couple of years old and loved them, not sure how they stand up compared to more modern cars now though.

I think they still look good in dark colours with the over bumper kit.

Not at all :D Flattered if I'm honest! :)

I really fancied one of these a long time ago and am half tempted but with potentially 4 cars as of tomorrow the fleet is getting a little OTT! :D

Well you didn't mention a budget, but what I am going to say will cost you rather more than what you mentioned, but what about an older V8 TVR ? ...I hear they are great if you are competent with a spanner and have something else to drive ...probably not a good idea to buy one if you need to rely on it day to day though :p

I really enjoyed my 325i and it's a much lighter, more focused machine than the 190 - a bit more of a driver's car you could say.

What about something a bit more period though, that might be more what you're looking for? Something you can drive on the limit without pushing it too much! :)

Problem with the 190 is the recirculating balls steering - 5 link independent rear on paper far better than an E30, it's definately more planted for that, but possibly too good, but it is more of a cruiser after all...

Merc seems heavier too but actually they're about the same kerb weight...

Having said that I found a standard 325i's steering rather slow - sport is much better.

Thought I would just post some sale pictures in here. The pictures are VERY flattering of the car in the way the paint shows.
