Keep getting someone elses letters sent to my address.

For some reason I keep getting letters sent to my address for someone called "David Goggin", three this week from the council and a handwritten packet with the wrong postcode on it. No one called David Goggin has ever lived at this address and I have lived here for 20 years, so why are people sending his mail to this address?

The council uselessly tells me to fill in the back if he doesn't live here, however I can't because he has never lived here and so I don't know his real address.

I just write address unknown and stick in the post box.

The packet has no return address though. How does this happen in the first place? He's not on the electoral roll at my house so did the council just decide to deliver to the wrong address for fun?

If you write not at this address on the packet and put it back in a post box it will be sent to the national returns centre who are authorised to open it and see if there is a return address inside.

You could open the mail and check what it is about. If someone is falsely claiming to live at your address you could end up with a bad credit rating or the baliffs calling round.

They’ve got his name from somewhere so just keep returning marked address unknown. They’ll get the message sooner or later, I wouldn’t worry about it.

ive always just rang up the place that sent the stuff and ask them to remove your address from their records, its never been a problem and ive never had anything sent again.

I get some post for
8 ***** road sometimes

The first time this come to light was when someone was paying my water bill

I've started getting this at my house recently. Some random ladies post. Loads of different mailings. What's annoying is that I live at

Yet they keep getting address to

2 xxxxxx xxxx
14 cowbridge

There is no 14 on our road, either!

I live in a uni owned house and we get main for all sorts of people. We get some monthly magazine that's about nature I think. We collect loads of it and while my housemate was away we put it all under her door. Then when she asked us to move it we hid it under her bed.
