anything "wrong" with wireless keyboards? (or mice)

yer although it is annoying its liveable in my book. and my current mouse isnt technically a gaming mouse but the battery's last weeks on end

ive never owned any decent mouse before this one and to be fair i quite like this one, so going to any mouse suggested about will be good for me, but dont want to buy a crap one, i want to be able to buy mine and have it for the next few years like my logitech one now

is there a mouse wired or wireless that has 3 buttons on the thumb/side?

I've had a mate around my place a few times and his wireless mouse interfered with my wireless mouse, so I had to temporarily use a corded mouse. Might be luck of the draw, unless mice run on channel numbers like routers do?

Never felt any lag, but couldn't see the point of having to keep buying or recharging batteries. Seemed a pointless feature.

well. maybe pointless but to "de-clutter" the desk then yes, for extreme gaming then probably no which im sure most of us here dont do, and im talking 5-8 hours straight basicly every day, which i used to do,even then i was running out of batterys every 2 weeks, soume times sooner, and it was ruiming my relationship! needless to say i jacked the gaming in!

i dont know why,but id jump on at 11pm and say ok few hours, and find my self still going at 6am and thinking mmm a redbull would go down nicley right now!! but then fall alseep for the next 8 hours at 11am!!

any way that x8 looks nice the mx518 just looks ...normal, and defently looks uncomfortable iuse this and its quite nice although it could be a tad longer but has good weight, just want 3 buttons on the side!!

I would not go wireless myself, but one thing I have seen on a friend's PC if you do go wireless: do not get a mouse that needs to go be charged on a station through a USB port. The only time the mouse gets charged is if the PC is on. If the PC is on you don't want to charge the mouse you want to use it! Really found it very irritating.

All I can say is roll on "induction charging" mouse pads. Wireless mice which continue to charge while your using them, and probably are able to draw enough power that the battery is only there for the moments you "fall off" the mouse pad.

I went to a Logitech wireless KB and mouse when my old keyboard broke. I noticed no lag or inaccuracies. After a few years, I temporarily went back to using my MX510 for whatever reason, and noticed a MASSIVE difference. I'm now using my MX510 and I've bought a wired USB keyboard.

Maybe the set I got wasn't very good, but I don't plan to go back to wireless on my gaming PC - though it's fine for general duties.

there is definatly lag, more so with higher dpi

wireless is like using a condom, its more convenient but loss of sensitivity

I bought a logitech wireless mouse and keyoard set which was on special offer in a supermarket for just £10 !!. I wasn't expecting it to work very well but it is absolutly fab, no problems whatsoever. I use stardard batteries, 2xAAA in the keyboard and 2XAA in the mouse and replace the keyboard batteries once every 6 months and the mouse once every 3 months.

I wish I had bought 2 now and kept one for spare.

Newer wireless mice have much less lag than older ones but if your an FPS gamer you will probably notice it. I gave a few a whirl awhile back as the lead really annoys me for gaming but I found most of them have a habit of going to sleep if you didn't move the mouse for awhile, with a short period of unresponsiveness when you moved again, which would get you killed :D and the odd erratic input probably from interference and went back to a wired mouse, which immediatly felt much more responsive.

To be honest I've tried multiple wireless setups and all of them had noticeable lag (more so on the mouse than the keyboard).

I use a logitech mx518 mouse and a cherry keyboard and wouldn't change to anything else.

It's that wonderful feeling you have when playing CSS when you jump over a wall or something and headshot an enemy whilst still in mid air. You can't fault that level of accuracy and responsiveness!

Wired all the way in my opinion.

i suppose what your comfortable with and happy with is good.

i mean i like wired keyboards but wireless mouses. the one i had did have any lag i noticed!

The Thing about wireless if you run out of batteries as your above to kill someone online it can get a little annoying which is why i went back to wired as i play heavy amounts of fps's

Another Vote for wired. Wireless is fine for general pc use bit for gaming it just ain't cricket.
You can get used to wireless gaming but when you switch back the advantage is very apparent.

I used a MS Wireless 5000, wireless KB and mouse, and whilst it was perfectly fine for general PC usage, soon as you fired up a FPS then you really did notice lag.

Press WASD and moving the mouse around in Half Life 2 resulted in what I felt was micro stutters... I swapped the wireless keyboard for a wired cheapo dell keyboard... Presto.. Stuttering gone, smooth gameplay.

If you play ANY FPS games, then forget wireless, it just doesn't cut it.... Wireless however is fantastic for Media PC's and addtional keyboard for a laptop or something....

As said, wireless has a place, just not for regular FPS games players...

I got a wireless logitech mouse and messed up the first charge. The battery life was so terrible i took it back and got a replacement wired version!
