Is the motherboard in the title a good 775 board for clocking and crossfire? I need it to be ddr3 capable, which the foxconn is. Im going to go for crossfire 5850's on it if its any good.

Has anybody owned one had a good experience with it?

You might want to check into the allegations of human rights violations by Foxconn before you decide whether you want to buy their kit.

Looks like OCUK are only stocking one of their boards at the moment, a p45 one, which afaik they were doing before all the recent (last year or so) news articles came up.

I was going to say that its said to be one of the best X48 boards available :)

Mind the suicides thing does make me think about what the Foxconn company want though :/

A very nice board - sounds like it is the best board around for your needs.

As for buying from foxconn -if you decide to boycott them then you will be giving up a lot of tech stuff since they build a lot of kit for major companies (ipods, iphones, PS3, XBox 360, wii, Motorola mobiles etc. etc.). It does seem like they have some problems which they need to deal with (tbh this is true with most of china in terms of human rights laws) but I believe the actual suicide rate at foxconn is lower than the national average considering they employ almost 500,000 people.

Well i have a foxconn A7DA-s 3.0 (AM3 with a 790GX). I will not be going with foxconn again.

The board itself is a nice board. it more-or-less works, and its looks pretty. however, its a rubbish overclocker, their support is prteey much nonexistant, and its taken them a year to work out MOST of the bios bugs (and even then, im using a really early version because its the only version that supports core unlocking).

for me, all this human rights/suicide malarky is just the final nail in the coffin.

Asus is the only make for me really. Only owned one, but it has been totally faultless so far (touch wood) :)

Do not buy a X38/48 board for clocking 45nm quads as they are fsb limited with them for some reason. My DFI Lanparty LT X48 T2R was a pig with my Q9550 and would only go to just under 3.7Ghz and even that took a serious amount of NB voltage. A good P45 board is what you want. Not the Foxconn P45 that OCUK sells either.

The blackops can be very picky about ram as well.

I have had many boards, and if you are purely lookign for clockign then the Blackops is a good clocker. It can be picky about RAM but i had a E8500 running at 4.9GHZ on water with it.
Be prepared to tweak it, as its not one of these boards that you can just auto everything.

I have a Foxconn Blackopps X48 paired with a Q6700, I bought it last October from Overclockers and it cost me a mere £70 which for an X48 board is a steel (at the time most P45 were £70-£90) because when new this was a £200+ board.

Looking back at it now with all the news that’s come out about the working conditions and the price I paid I feel guilty that I've helped contribute to those workers misery.

As the board goes it has every overclocking option in the BIOS you could wish for, hell it has stuff that I’ve not even heard of before I bought it. To give you some idea of how hardcore this board is it even comes with a plastic tower for pouring L2N on the northbrige, which if you plan to use you will have to remove the default water cooling block frist! All this is really impressive and being X48 you can guarantee it’s crossfire performance will be top notch (as borne out in many benchmarks and test), the X48 is an excellent chipset for gamers.

What I’m not impressed with is the stability of the board when overclocking although this could my CPU. My Q6700 is overclocked to a modest 3.1ghz and that’s with an increase in voltage, I can push it to 3.3Ghz but it that becomes unstable even under idle, I could be typing a letter and my PC would randomly freeze up which is no good for me. Looking back I wish I bought a Biostar P45 sure it’s not x16/x16 but then again I have no plans to crossfire.

I have a foxconn black ops, I bought one ate full price at launch and it was worth every penny, the sheer amount of BIOS options is staggering and, whilst it takes a lot longer to tweak when OC'ing to get a stable result, you do tend to be able to push slightly further. Its a great board and one of the best 775 boards imo, especially at that price with those features.
