I'd like to put a coffee table in my lounge as it feels a bit bare and not too cosy, however, my centre speaker is quite low down and it would directly block it, the acoustic engineer in me has avoided coffee tables for this very reason.

I'm just wondering what compromises other people have come up with? I think it would look ungainly to have the centre above the TV on the wall, but the only other option i can think of is to put the centre on top of the TV stand and put the TV on top of this, instead of the CD player which is currently there.

post a pic of your set up just now. How high / low is your centre speaker cos there may be a low level coffee table option?

EDIT

Actually just had a look at your website and seen you have pics of your setup there. Think the prob is the room itself as its trying to be a kitchen / dining / lounge / office all in one

Haha, nope, i've moved twice since that flat!

My lounge is only a lounge and the only moving part in it is the HD in my media PC, i'll see if i can sort out a picture of the current place later.
