2 Is a a grey area. It's still cheating, but if you're serious and she's really unhappy with her current partner I'd say it's alright. I'd also say be as sure as you can be of the couple's situation first, and be 100% sure of your own motivation. Even if you made it work, there'd be a lot of emotional consequences (aka baggage) to deal with and it wouldn't necessarily show straight away.
