Deaths as Israeli forces storm Gaza aid ship

So much stupidity on all sides. Israel shouldn't be aggressively checking aid ships and the protesters onboard should know better than to attack armed commandos.

The battleship was not in the exclusion zone ; )
Yes, but we were at war, our sub had a free shot at an enemy battleship and quite rightly sunk it, it doesn't matter where it was or what direction it was sailing, it was an enemy battleship and could have become a threat in the future if left afloat.

yep, imagine if that ship had been left alone and in later days it sank one of ours

It was being followed by a British sub so why not wait till it enters exclusion zone then sink her?? Then it's job done

It was a job done, action wasn't illegal and Argentine surface fleet went back to port which in long run possibly saved lives of many more British and Argentinians.

Yes, that's fine if you know the enemies plans, what if she's been a decoy to keep the sub occupied, or if she'd returned to port in Argentina only to be part of an attack weeks later. If Conqueror had followed her then the sub would have been tied up for an unknown period of time when she could be patrolling for other threats, better to just sink it and get back to patrolling.

But wasn't that the British that landed doing all those things? Push them off cliffs, shot them, etc?

I was under the impression that Australia has not been under British rule for quite some time, perhaps i'm wrong?

We have a long and bloody history in basically every country on the earth, name a place and we probably killed someone, raped their wife, then ate their dog there. Things change, or apparently sometimes they don't, but we still get the blame.

Every nation that achieved anything in this world has stepped over someone to get there, you'll struggle to find a country that hasn't.

Seems to me that the protesters were sailing with the expectation, perhaps even intention, of having a confrontation with the Israeli's.

More fool the Israelis for playing into their hands.

The Israeli Navy have released this, FLIR footage from one of their helicopters as their Special Forces fast-rope onto the deck of one of the ships. As you can see, the soldiers immedeatly come under attack from protestors, and the first man's thrown from one deck to another below.

That aid flotilla - besides carrying 700 activists and humanitarian workers - was carrying such dangerous contraband "that Israel bars from reaching Gaza, like cement and other building materials. The activists said they also were carrying hundreds of electric-powered wheelchairs, prefabricated homes and water purifiers."
Sounds vicious, Israel, really dangerous

To be fair, the construction materials are used to reinforce the tunnels that they use to smuggle in weapons

every ship at sea has the right to protect themselves from attempts at piracy.

If the Israeli's identified themselves prior to boarding, i'm not sure this is piracy.

If the soldiers came under attack immediately, do they have the right to defend themselves ?

They arent very 'special forces' are they if they cant defend themselves lol.

Tbh the Israeli's deserve everything they get after doing what they did...they had no right to board that ship and if they wanted to they should have asked permission or done it in a more non confrontational way....international waters means they have absolutely FA jurisdiction to do what they did...all imo that is.
