Israel permanently deploying nuclear-armed submarines to the Persian Gulf

I must have missed the part where we attacked northern Ireland civilians from the air in response to IRA activities...

You must have missed the 30 years of air cover over Belfast and Londonderry. Never mind the the air movement of patrols, check point, home searchs and arrests. Never mind the murky underworld that was Special Branch.

They've admitted it repeatedly but they have said they would never be the first nation to "introduce" nuclear weapons to the middle east.

By that they've always meant testing a nuclear weapon.

I think that might be for logistical reasons though, where could the test a weapon?

Really? And that's just in the short time you've been here too...

Well lets be honest, he could have been reading the forums as a guest...therefore forming an opinion of him OR he could be a perma-banned member whos joined up with another account...hmmmm

EDIT: Beaten by Tefal somewhat:p

My fiancee reads the forums sometimes as a guest so has already formed a few opinions on some of the members here:p

the ocean?

There's legal reasons ie the test ban, but mainly it;s because there would be massive political backlash, so this way they can always say "we never introduced nukes to the region" despite still being able to use them as a deterrent, but having nukes in that region also makes them a massive target as a successful invasion would likley yield enough information and material to build a bomb of your own. (no tricky enrichment process, ready made plutonium and enriched uranium)

My bets on him being Keltik THC's return account.

Very similar Weed based name, very similar views, and signed up only a few days after he got banned.

No its not all right but so long as they keep attacking Israel that is the way it will stay.

Indeed but i think you will find that the Pal's are only protecting what they feel is theirs whereas Israel feel that it belongs to them etc.

A vicious circle that is never ending.

I know Israel are widely believe to have some form of nuclear weapons but has anybody ever actually confirmed it? Or actually tested one?

I don't think there's any doubt that they possess them in some form or another. No tests though.

Nah they we're sold them by the USA in the 70's i think (could have been late 60's) to act as (effectively) as US satellite state in an area seen to be the next world battle ground (oil).

Yeah comparing Israel/Palestine to NI in the 70's-90's doesnt work, the mainland didn't flatten Belfast or Derry on the principle that's the quickist way to get rid of the IRA, its more like NI in the 1680's with plantation, expect the plantationers are Jewish (and the native Irish catholics are played by muslim palistinans) and the Jews have MANY more guns...

Indeed you must, because i remember a very interesting conversation with an ex army type on just this topic.

Of course "civilians" and "terrorists" depends very much on which side you take.

Back to the actual subject in hand the Persian Gulf is close to Iran, the country that is developing nuclear weapons and whose president has said some less than peaceful things about continued existence of Israel.

Seems the logical place to put them to me, regardless of who is supplying Hamas.

I think that is entirely incorrect. Where have you heard that. This has certainly not been made public (if it is true, which I highly doubt). The US would not want to give nukes to warmongering state that has been controlled by army/ex-army men throughout its history.

No they made their own.

They got heavy water for the reactors from the uk.

although they did supposedly steal some high grade uranium from the US but poor record keeping/stock recording means it's never sure if it never existed/went missing/was used by another us project or stolen.

Not the first time and won't be the last they do something 'to protect Isreal'.

Like when they attacked Egypt, sorry defended against Egypt attacking them (allegedly *cough splutter* :p) in the 60s.
