Ok so my BeQuiet 750w PSU has failed after 1 year, so I need a new 750w PSU. I don't want to spend too much - read Seasonic X-750 750W - but I also don't want to end up with a cheap 750w PSU with a poor efficiency rating.

Any suggestions please?

Thats my spec

Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping
Asus ATI Radeon HD 4890 1024MB GDDR5
Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R
OCZ Gold 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8
Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB SATA-II x2
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer 7.1

I tried a few PSU calculator sites and they all said to go for at least 700w PSU. Even when I was getting suggestions on his forum for my pc build last year I was told to go for 700w

Even with your cpu at 4ghz a 500w psu would run that fine.
Brother is running an i5 750 (stock atm as wants a new psu) and a 5870 on a 480w psu without issues. He is getting a new one soon though.

If I were you I would get a decent brand psu that is silent. If you get one that is 600-700w then you have some room for upgrades in the future:).

Haven't looked tbh, however I would be absolutely amazed if OCZ released a psu that was not decent!

Was thinking the same. Might wait and see what is said about it in reviews 1st. Have RMA'd my old psu so want to look at other options since its no longer on the market.

I would look at the Antec TruePower New 750W:

It is made by Seasonic and has high efficiency.

Some reviews of the PSU:

TBH, the 650W version of the Antec TruePower new would be fine IMHO:

Here is a review of the PSU:

Many of the higher end OCZ PSUs are made by FSP and Sirtec. Seasonic is a better OEM and they tend to use better quality capacitors.
