Webuyanycar.com

Webuyanycar quoted me 2.6k less than I can get privately and 1k less than part-ex so they can take a running jump!

Gosh really? Fancy that. Imagine them giving load purchase prices in order to take advantage of people who need rid of a car fast or simply know no better.

I'd never have thought it.

Was it worth bumping a 2 month old thread for that? :p

i had never done a quote on there before. a couple guys at work were being quoted close to "market" value by them, the quote i got was plain silly though

Has anybody heard their Radio ad without cringing?

"If you value your time for what may only be a few quid, you could sell it immediately"

Really, they are trying to bill themselves as the quick and painless way to sell your car, so that you don't have to deal with "time wasters, tyre kickers, motor traders(Has ANYONE here had a motor trader come to view a privately listed car?) and weirdos coming around late at night".

I can deal with their annoying "ANY, ANY, ANY, ANY" adverts, but this patronising B.S really does grind my gears. It's like they are saying 'Come on, we're only offering you a 'couple of quid' less than you'll get selling privately, surely you value your time more than a couple of quid?".

I don't understand why they show Bentleys, Ferraris etc in the background pictures. The only reason I can see using them is if you've so much debt that you have to buy from Carcraft and you're too stupid to see you'd be better off keeping the current car.

I want to know why they show niche stuff like the 205 GTI as well. Most have fallen into the hands of enthusiasts and no "enthusiast" is going to accept the sort of money they offer sheerly out of principal.

I'd rather get my £50 from the scrapman...

I sold my focus with them, didn't get as much as I would privately but it was about the ease for me. No hassles, no having to be at home on such and such a day for viewers. Just pootle along and all done and dusted in 30mins. So wasn't about the price for me, was purely about the hassle free service. All depends what your wants are really.

See, I'd understand this if the 6 hours of your time, tops, it takes to flog a half decent car in good condition is worth the £1000+ you will have lost using this service.

But given you had a Focus, I doubt it was, therefore I am simply left confused.

It's quite simple, 6 hours of my life is far more important to me than 1000 quid.

Alright for some ;)

Oh I'm not rich, more financially 'secure', there of course being more stages of finances than just needing money or being rich :D (and I don't rate time in life by financial terms, so the 300k wouldn't work for me ;) )

Uh huh...so you bill your time at £167 p.h.. This would give you a salary of at least ~£300k...in fact no, that's the salary below which you wouldn't get out of bed!
Pull the other one!

£70 for my rover 200 (98 plate, good condition, FSH, 2 owners), and i would have to pay a £50 fee+vat.

uhm.

no thanks.

thats funny... you have to pay them to buy your car...

agree to everything and give them a bill for the admin of selling them your car...

if you were very rich its possible you cannot be assed to sell the car, but still don't want to give it away...

its not always about maximum return or profit...

I've already said that I do not measure my life in terms of monetary value. Its got nothing to do with how much money my time would garner, its all to do with how I spend my time. 6 hours spent with my family is worth more to me than £1000.

Got nothing to do with pulling the other one, everyone puts different priorities on different things in life. For me money simply is not one of my priorities, 6 hours of time spent doing what I want though is. Really dont understand why people are so incredulous that a person might not be obsessed with how much money they can get. Sad really.

(I should also point out that I didnt mention anything at all about what I would and wouldnt get out of bed for, no idea where you are getting that from)
