Sennheiser HD 595 vs 650?

I currently have a set of 595's and absolutely love them. They are one of my real pleasures to listen to. How much better would a set of 650's be?

I went from the 555s to 650s which I am selling in mm the highs are much clearer however in all fairness I dont think the price justifies the upgrade

Currently just onboard sound and I fully appreciate the 650s would be water on that. But I am considering an amp and a decent soundcard.

Must admit that sounds like a great setup but I know what you're saying about the price.

Think i over said it would probably be 25% better at most

Stick with the hd 595s unless you got a really good amp

Get an xfi or a xonar and keep the 595's imo

Just sold my 595's having upgraded to 600's. From my stereo amp HP-out the 600s were slightly better but they didn't really blow me away, probably because they weren't being driven properly.

I've just put in my shiny new Xonar Essence STX and now the sound from the 600's is incredible! Very happy considering the 600's only cost me £100 on sale from play. I don't think I would have upgraded if they were RRP.

The law of diminishing returns definitely comes into play with audio gear. The 650's are no doubt better than the 595's, but at £250 new are they 100 quid (+ the extra cash for an amp that'll do them justice) better?
