A local Apple store was burglarized for over 10k of merch.

Huh! Well, someone broke into a PC store and stole some PCs, apparently they got in via a gaping security hole, but they caught lots of viruses off them and died. So there!
The store replenished its stock the next day with just one call to the Chinese sweatshop where the nasty PCs are poorly assembled. Huff, puff, mutter...

I think the point was that it was a reference or, dare I say it, a witty comment on the fact that Apple computers are so expensive that 10K only equates to 2 computers. Some may even call it a joke given life via a fake police report .

Whilst I have never heard it as most accounts I have read about burgalry use burgled, it does seem to be a valid if slightly strange word.

Anyway, in real life this would bring a problem.
If I was in a pub and somebody offered me a PC laptop for peanuts there would be a good chance I would take it (yeah flame on) but if I was offered a Mac laptop I'd shrug my shoulders.
