Gunman on the loose in Cumbria!

+1 - lets leave the political fisty cuffs out of this and remember those killed and serve to warn those who may be in harms way until this nutcase is caught.

I can see them aiming to put Section 1 firearms type classification on shotguns now thought.

Shame when a few nutters ruin it for everyone :( Condolencies to those who have lost loved ones - wonder if they're truly random people, or if they were targeted in any way.

How long before we find a trail of missed opportnities and unheeded warnings back to the local Police this time I wonder eh?

legally owned weapons are very rarely an issue... obviously changing gun law is irrelevant in cracking down on illegally owned ones, because they're already illegally owned.

If this chap legally owns the shotgun then he could just have easily have rampaged with anything. The people who use them are the problem, not the weapons that they use.

Quite worrying, my sis is filming in the Lake District today - not sure exactly where...

Edit: she's texted back and isn't actually in the Lakes today.

Wow you just summed yourself up in one line, petty, egotistical and arrogant.
no, you made what wasn't just a spelling mistake but completely the wrong word, just after blaming labour for something (which isn't in any way their fault), when your education could well be.

Suppose that would be your attitude if it was one of your family members who had been injured or killed?

I live not far from were this has happened and its horrifying. May they rest in peace and ny thoughts are with their families :-(

its a statment of fact, I never said "ha ha thats a funny story"...

I wonder how much trouble (if any) you would be in if you cracked out your shotgun and blew this guy to bits..

Hopefully (for her) they weren't actually random people, it would seem unusual that he would travel around different places and just choose randoms in each one, would have thought either randoms all in one place or specific individuals in different places. However you can't always apply logic to the mind of someone who goes on a shotgun powered rampage.

Argubly he could do a lot less damage if he was running around with a knife, and would get caught quicker.

With a shotgun he can kill a few people in seconds and be gone

Instead of commenting on the topic, he decided to personally attack a error in my post. which clearly shows the points that i stated.
And education can be measured in multiple ways, spelling is just one segment.

It doesn't sound like he has though, he's killed different people in different places, and that's by the by, he could even more quickly run over several people and be gone even quicker.
