Electric meter readings, what would you read this as?

Sorry to hijack but we have the same and its such a pain to read. Does anyone know if we do request an exchange for a digital one they will just do it or is there a cost implication?

If you have just moved in and they're reading it higher, then I would go with the higher... that way you won't have to pay for any until you go over what they read it as.

*ex student mode off...

Lol, never thought about that!

Heh, was just thinking that's an insane way of displaying the meter, have never seen one like that before
Must be just the cogs inside it feeding the display - though it might not have killed them to put another little one in line with those which are currently increasing anti-clockwise!

Are you in the electric trade then mate?

That's taken from the BG webbie, I used to work for a different energy supplier but Gas Metering not electric. The dial meters are always a pain tho, your reading it right but it doesn't mean the ppl before you were. You should be able request a meter reader to visit to confirm your read (which i know is a pain but it may sort them out) & just double check that the meter serial number listed on the bill matches yours exactly. I'm not sure if electric meters hit the same issues as gas, but in new builds, flats or properties where the meters are outside etc etc they can sometimes be mixed up. I doubt that is the case with this but always worth double checking.

Other than that gl & insist on the read. If they don't believe it is correct they will (or should) send a meter reader out anyway. Once everything is sorted, try to give one read a month for your gas & electric it can be beneficial for more accurate billing.
