I really like that, although going back 15 years or so there was a lego plotter you could make with one of the kits "control kits"* (I've still got the instructions for that somewhere in the loft).

I suspect the hardest part would have been the computer interface


*IIRC it was the first of the programmable control kits that could remember something like 4x 16 instructions, or work manually by the joypad control.

Then again, would be good as a uni project or so in the first year. I had to make a cash machine with java& lego ( with an NXT controller with lejos on it).
