this is a deep sea experiment nothing more. they have numerous ideas which so far appear to be failing but they are up against extreme depth, pressure as well as mother nature......imagine that site when the hurricane season starts.

heard yesterday on the radio about the last attempt to cap off undersea oil leak took 9 months! and that was in 150m of water.

lets hope they get lucky soon - the enviromental consequences are so upsetting

in the meantime would be nice to have some commentary with the live feed

to what scale is the depth reading? Nothing I can think of puts it at 5000ft.

I don't know, but I wonder whether it's in fathoms, or maybe a measure of pressure?

Picture looks all black now, I presume thats the 20% extra oil flow. How will they see anything to do the next step, hopefully they thought of that beforehand

they might have scrapped the current operation and are now waiting for the engineers and welders to finish plan c, the dome.

yes earlier it did, the diamond cutter got jammed and had to re surface.

maybe they are repairing it to try again.
