Very funny joke; our puzzlement at the matching of two apparently incompatible concepts ('10k worth' and 'both computers') makes us search for a way to rationalise these. The only 'clue' is the mention of Apple. As long as we 'know' that Apple products are expensive we can fill in the missing information and 'solve' the puzzle ('get' the joke).
As we have 'suspended disbelief' for the purpose of hearing the joke, the obvious exaggeration is acceptable.
That said, I reckon that they must have only got away with, like, a couple of iPods and stuff, durp durp.
