i have got the chance to upgrade my camera. so what do you think is a fair price for the following kit (as a bundle) everything is boxed with all manuals, cables and perfect condition.
will be selling on the bay as i dont have MM access and i tend to do ok with most of the stuff i have sold there.

- eos 450d body only, 6 months old, no marks or scratches. shutter count 9k roughly
- 2 official LP-E5 batteries
- EP-EX15 eyepiece
- RS60 remote shutter
- an aftermarket infra red remote
- opteka battery grip (with the addon that lets you use 6x AA batteries)
- 8gb sandisk extreme3 SDHC card
- a canon camera case, big enough to hold the camera with an 18-55mm lens attached

thinking of upgrading to 40d or 50d - undecided at the moment. im looking for something with a faster frame rate than my 450d. cant afford a 7d :(

i have my own idea of what i think it will sell for, just interested to see if your ideas are anywhere near mine!

Just so you know, TalkPhotography is saturated with 40D for sale. I've got one on it's way for a bargain. You can have one between £300-£450, depending on condition (there's a couple around 6000clicks only and your bargaining skills.)

With your kit, I suspect it'll be around £400 to £500 as a package, maybe higher up if sold individually but that takes time. Very hard sell unless someone specifically want a 450D over the 40D, for the accessories and smaller size.

thanks for the estimate. its higher than my estimate so im happy!

i really cant decide between 40d and 50d. i have read so much its starting to mess with my mind lol. guess i will sell my camera and keep researching.
the main factor drawing me to a 40d is the money i will have left over. need to buy CF cards, battery grip etc. a lot more affordable if a buy a 40d.

What made you give up your old camera, you were unique at the London meet! :D

I personally think that, as a package, that kit will fetch around £350 to £400. I know that sounds pessimistic - so let me explain my logic :)

I don't see the point in selling everything as a kit unless that kit is complete - i.e. with a lens so that a beginner can buy the lot and start learning. To sell without a lens limits the target audience to those who know what they want - and those people aren't as likely to want all the little accessories that you're offering with it.

Sell each item individually and I think it could be >£400.

Just my thoughts :)

i could sell my 18-55 IS kit lens with it but i would rather keep it. lots to think about. thanks for the food for thought :)

lazer46 - send me an email, shoud be in my trust - maybe we can work something out :)

The Ollie was small, I loved it but I got it as my camera everywhere for it's small size e.t.c. I've since found the need for shallower DoF and I miss primes!!! And with Olympus mainly focusing on mFT systems, I decided to jump back in bed with Canon.

Just going back to basics with the 40D and 50mm f1.8 (keep the rest of the money, saving up for more primes I think). I've also recently acquired a job as a photographer's assistant (4 weddings lined up so far), she shoots Canon too, so lens sharing is a possibility. No longer 'unique' but heyho, I'm still shooting :)

i have decided on what i think is a reasonable asking price of £400 for this. if anyone is interested please let me know. will be listing it on the bay sometime over the weekend if not. lazer46 i replied to you last night with the same offer.
thanks :)
