A&W and Barq's are the two brands to try.

You can actually get Root Beer in Sainsbury's here in Bristol but it tastes like watered down cheapo crap.

Passed a Total garage last night and thought I would see what the hype is about.
Thoroughly disappointed, I thought it might a new 'taste' as in when you first try Cream Soda or Root Beer, but sadly it was nothing!

Did find out that the flat I stay in Manchester whilst working is about 2 miles away from one of the largest UK American Sweets/Drink shops, and you can pop in instead of using the postage.

Might try some Diet Root Beer and Diet Mountain Dew from the States now.

Wanted to see what all the years of fuss was about so I have been looking around for a week or so to get the new UK version with no luck, however today I found a shop just off of covent garden that sold the US import can's. its guuuuuuuuuuuud.

I can't find the UK one anywhere either, and i'm not going to go around parking up at petrol staions just to have a look at their drinks cooler. However the originals I ordered from American soda came today, really good. I recognise the taste so probably had it as a kid when it was available over here.

When I was in Prestwick airport on Friday they had some at the bottom of a cage ready to be put out, but I didn't have enough time to take it out and pay for it before boarding the plane thus no Mountain Dew yet for me.
