Dr Who: City Of The Daleks

There was "Destiny of the Doctors" released in 1997 featuring various characters from the 1963-89 series, including Anthony Ainley as the Master:

There was also Dalek Attack for the Amiga back in the early 1990's, but apparently it wasn't that great.

Apparently the new game is free for UK people, but overseas have to wait another month and will have to pay for it. I suppose we have already paid with our licence fee.

So far there hasn't really been much gameplay. Just hiding from mostly blind Daleks with sluggish controls, solving simple puzzles, reading obscure triva cards and watching less impressively acted cut scenes (compared to the top notch new series).

I don't know why I don't hate it though. Will finish it tonight I imagine.

To be fair Ford didn't give them that much to work with :p it's no "The Dalek Invasion of Earth" at any rate. Not that I mind 1960s culture references but some sensible context would be good.

Just finished it - that's pretty much the whole game summed up.
Good way to spend an hour if you like your adventure games easy, and a couple of Doctor Who facts for the fans.
With a bit more polish (i managed to break the game three times) & a bit more length, could be quite good. Wonder if they'll improve for the next episode?

Just finished it too, it is more of the same, but I think I enjoyed it. As a game it was so unpolished, I really can't explain why I'm looking forward to the next one!

Cheers for the heads up, I'll go grab it. They claimed on Confidential that it would be a "proper Who story" but whether it will add anything to the "lore" of the current season I dunno, that's the main reason I want to go play it.

I somehow doubt there will be major plot points on the whole "cracks" arc, but still it might be fun to control Amy Pond ;)
