I'm looking to buy an iPhone on the Orange's so-called "iPhone 35" contract, but the one thing that wards me off Apple products is that iTunes is mandatory to sync music. In fact, can Apple products even read MP3s? I'm the oldskool kid who does file management across Explorer and won't touch the likes of WMP and iTunes with a bargepole. If anyone can please confirm, that would be great.

I'm only considering an iPhone now because I've had an LG Viewty for 17 months (contract due next month) and I see iPhone as being the next step up.

Thanks!

The HTC Desire/N1 is the next step up, not the iPhone.

If you badly want an iPhone at least wait until the 4G is out.

Problem is he's obviously going to be using his phone as a music player and the Android player is a total POS....

Not that I'm saying the the Apple OS is better overall, but there can be no doubt it is without question the better handset for music..

That's true, the iPod software is better at the moment.

Doubletwist player just needs an equaliser and then it's not far off though to be fair. Shouldn't take long as virtually everyone has suggested it :p

There are loads of other media players too, lots better than the stock Android ones.
