Are PC games dying out?

The best one is always the piracy arguement. Its been around since... well since as long as i can remember.

The only worry i have is the console ports that don't take advantage of all the hardware we are paying out for. Having said that still enjoying the games though.

Jeez, less hate please! I didn't say the PC is dead/dying, I'm asking a question because I was surprised to see its representation dwindling...

I can't remember the last time i bought a pc game from a physical shop. Console games on the other hand i have with some '3 for 30 quid' type of deal :) but you don't really see that for the pc outside of online places.

For boxed retail versions of games GAME are normally quite competitively priced. They don't always have the stock but I would buy around half my games in there and the other half preorder or Steam.

PC gaming is not dieing out, it's probably growing overall. Just the whole market for gaming seems to be growing too. PC exclusives might not be as easy to come by but a lot of companys do their console ports well onto PC imo.

Come back in maybe 50 years and it might be on the decline.

I'd say consoles will be on the decline then.

PC games aren't dying, in fact the indie scene for PC gaming I don't think as ever been healthier or of such a high quality.

Also if you have a PC and use it to game the odds are you have the savvy to buy your games online be it digital distribution or from a online distributor.

And the piracy argument do me a favour....

The day PC games die out is the day I give up gaming.
PC games live forever due to modding and the fact that they can be tweaked to work on modern PC's.
I can now play games from 6 years ago at 1920x1200 with 16xAF and 4xAA at 60 FPS.Also these games can be found on ebay for less than £10.
XBOX live wants over £10 for old classics at 720p and 30fps.
I hate the way microsoft and apple want to control what we buy and want.
There is no modding on consoles due to the control over their games.
Also the online community on console games dies out very quickly.
The reason GAME has scaled down on PC games is because they are of no use in preowned sales due to the DRM.
Most of GAME's profits are from preowned.
I buy most games from steam now and I am sure I am not alone.

The only way I know how to buy games online to download is steam and metaboli, and steam is overpriced apart from the offers it comes out with.

it may or may not be dieing but it still doesnt warrent theses £400/£500 grapics cards!
Hence why i sold my 5970.
