Loading up Steam client just now it says that Shattered Horizon was on free to play across this weekend (June 3rd to 6th) in the popup that appears on start. Nothing has been announced on their News page yet but I'm sure it will happen :)
 
terrible game imo

played it last time the did a free weekend thing

I'd still be tempted to get SC2 on steam even for the few extra quid just to negate the need for a dvd.

Is it like JC2 where I've bought the retail key but just added it and downloaded it via steam or do you have to install from the disk if you buy retail?
 
Have they added more weapons yet?

Are there more servers yet? (had real trouble finding a low ping server with ppl on last free weekend)

They added a new weapons pack a few weeks ago for free.

This is the reason for the free weekend to get the game out there again.

Servers should not be a problem.
 
Just tried SH, and it seemed a lot smoother than the last free play weekend....

Finding and joining servers actually works now......and it definately runs smoother on my 4850 than i remember from last time...

Hmmm...tempting, i like the atmosphere of it, but on the other hand the outer space setting really makes you feel isolated and disconected from the other players and the game....
