Just ordered my first Blu Ray player (Sony BDP370) to go with my new HD TV (Sony KDL 40EX703). Any recomendations for the best Blu Ray disc to show off the quality - Avatar, Hurt Locker.....?
 
If you want some demo disks to show off picture quality get something fullscreen - more wow factor.

Avatar, UP, and Apocolypto fit the bill nicely.
 
Avatar was cracking when the ship was approaching pandora for first time I actually had a jaw dropping moemtn it looked that good.
 
I really enjoyed The Vampires Assistant, Triangle, Avatar and I also watched Slumdog Millionaire. I have watched these recently on my new Blu-Ray setup. :)
 
Don't have Avatar, heard good things about the BD, shame it's a cringeworthy movie. The Dark Knight has some brilliant sequences and fantastic IQ throughout, and is an enjoyable movie, that'd be my recommendation.

If you can get over a lot of screen shake, Star Trek.
 
yes Avatar looks good, so does Patriot, iRobot, Transformers, Star Trek, King Kong but I would say the ones that look even better are Baraka and any recent Disney (Cars, Wall-E etc...) - they are truly visually stunning
