A friend of mine has had his Facebook profile picture used by David Miliband on his Labour leadership campaign website here. It is the one dead centre on the picture banner. Looking at a few suspect pictures in the collage below this, it would seem a fair few others' pictures are also likely to have been similarly pinched.

Now while I understand that anything you list as public on your Facebook profile is fair game for anyone who wishes to use reproduce it, is it legal for him to be alleging that anonymous people who he has never been in contact with are supporters of his campaign?

I think Facebook have an axe to grind as its their intellectual property. I would alert them if i were you.

Has he joined any groups like "I support Labour" or the alike?

Quote form the introductory blog post

Most importantly we want to include the ideas, thoughts, pictures and videos from Labour members and supporters. David will take some time each week to read and respond to comments on the website, and on his Twitter feed and Facebook page.

Here's the email address listed for complaints and feedback for the site:

Oh, and shame on DavidMilliband.net for not having a favicon.ico set - shame indeed!

Well, Facebook will have some kind of 'ownership' of those images.
Your friend should approach one of the anti-labour tabloids and see if they'll pay for his story. I think mistaken identity - your friend must have the same name as a Miliband supporter?

Also, is that Ewan McGregor I spy in there? Looking like a lumber-jack, 2nd row from bottom, 7th from right.
