When installing 6GB DDR3 Ram on this board you have to place the three ram sticks in the black ram slot of each channel, is that correct???
Thanks for responding.
Hi
Does anyone know the best way of updating this boards bios??? Does this board have the bios updating tool built into the bios like some
other asus boards have and you can burn the latest bios to CD and update the board by loading the bios updating tool that is located in the bios.
Thanks for responding
The ROG connect method is the simplest way in my opinion. Steps below:
1.Download the latest BIOS.
2.Extract the file and rename the file to R3E.ROM
3.Save it to a flash drive and connect it to the ROG connector at the back
4.Press the ROG button when the computer is off and wait till the light stops flashing and it's done!
Me neither! I was 3rd so very pleased it's finally on it's way. I haven't posted here in a while but wanted to thank simulatorman, Helios1234 and especially VortX for all the information they've posted up about their experience with the R3E. I'll definitely be checking back here for assistance once I get it up and running.but cant wait![]()
Hi
One thing i`m not sure of is that I noticed the Noctua NH-D14 cooler has two fan connectors on it for each of the two fans but the Asus rampage III Extreme
only has one CPU fan header, so does anyone know which of the other fan headers on this board should I connect the other Noctua NH-D14 fan conecter to???
Thanks for responding.
I use A (CPU) & C:
C is convientient but you could use D or B, even the others.
Thanks mate
Which fan headers do you have your back rear fan and front fan connected to???
The rear is on B and bottom intake is on G and the drive cage is on H.
The top three are going to a fan controller. Case is an 800D.
Is it arriving today?
I`m not unsure if it will be today or monday.
simulatorman,
I noticed your case has similar fan locations as mine.
Do you have your top three fans as intake or exhaust???
Thanks for responding.
As exhaust.
[Someone said that a Corsair rep had recommended one as intake but I haven’t found the post(s). I might try the one closest to the front panel as intake but we shall see.]
Would you say having the top three fans as exhaust, bottom fan as intake, back rear as exhaust and front fan where the hard drive bays are as intake is a good idea for case cooling???
Thanks for responding.
