Need some advices guys, as I'm going to mount 1 triple rad at the bottom of the case (left side looking from the front), and the dual rad next to it, that part i have no problem with, but now how do i mount the fans?

1/ do i have the fans blowing one direction, like cold air in > fans > triple rad > fans > dual rad > out, but i can see that this setup im also blowing hot air from the triple rad to the dual rad...

2/ fans pulling hot air out to left side of case for the triple rad, and fan pulling hot air out to the right side of case for dual rad, will this be better option?

3/ does using fan shrouds make the fans work better?

any help will be grateful guys, thank in advance..

1. one direction is best, use a rad with high FPI and low RPM fans

2. check how i have mine [link in sig], either way doesnt matter too much

3. fan shrouds are hit and miss. i have found there to be negligable difference however it does seem to reduce noise a little.

Thank for the reply rjkoneill, i did look at your build log, lovely setup you got there, i did notice the pic you got there show the dual rad with no fans, is that right? so did the dual rad cooling by the fans on the quad rad as well?

another point is how do you fit the rad mount to the case? screw or double sided tape? the rad mounts i got only have 1 screw hole that match my TJ07 case, will need to drill a few more hole to bolt it down by the look at it...

the dual rad has no fans, it gets its airflow from the front four fans on the quad in front of it. i am having a reshuffle of the loop soon so it could be configured differently

the radiator mounts used to be in stock at OcUK, but i dont think we still carry the line.

they are just a 480mm Radiator Stand
and a 240mm Radiator Stand

they are attached to the inside of the case using tape i found at B&Q
its sort of like a roll of 2mm thick foam with sticky tape on both sides. it seems to work well, i couldnt bring myself to drill into the case!

Thank for the advice rjk, im very confuse now, been reading a lots of thread regarding the rad setup im going for, the heat from the triple rad with make the dual rad more or less useless, so im thinking now where else i can mount the dual rad in the TJ07? here my 3 option atm.

1/ dual rad for CPU at the back of the case (outside),triple rad bottom of the case for GPU crossfire

2/ slim rad like the Back Ice GTS240 (360 maybe?) top of case where the fans normally is for CPU, triple rad bottom of the case for GPU crossfire, but will the Slim rad able to cool a I7 980X with 4.2Ghz OC?

3/ 1 Quad rad for the CPU, GPU crossfire, with a XSPC 5.25" Dual Drive Bay Reservoir for 2 DDC pumps & Two Laing 18w DDC Pumps, bottom of the case.

which option will be best guys, need some advice before i can do anything atm....

Regards
Tony

I've got a quad in the bottom and a dual in the top of my TJ07 in a single loop cooling my CPU and GPU only (Read sig for specs).

Loop = Res - Pump - Quad - CPU - Dual - GPU - Res.

To admit, whether the rads are mounted separately or closely, the temperature of the coolant will reach an equalibrium. Hence, the temperature of my CPU is nearly the same as my GPU.

Hiya d3m0n, how do you mount the dual in the top of the TJ07 case? did you need to mod the case to fit the dual rad there? to me only slim dual rads can be mounted there, and still need to cut a bit of the MB tray off to fit the rear fan to the rad...

I used a 29mm thick dual radiator and two slim 20mm fans which in result does not need any mods at all! No cutting and no drilling anything!!

1. Remove the mesh grille from the case
2. Removed the two 25mm fans
3. Slide the radiator in place.
4. I used 2x slim 20mm fans instead of regular 25mm ones, the result is around 2-3mm space from the fan vs mosfet. It is a very tight fit, but requires no modification at all!! I can take some photos for you an upload them if you want.

Thank for the reply matey, using a slim rad was one of the option i could think of, in fact its the only option i can go for without a lots of modding to the case which i don't want, the only slim rad i know of is the Black Ice GTS240, MagiCool 240mm Copper Radiator II which is 30mm thick, Aquacomputer Airplex PRO 240 Radiator 30mm thick also, Black Ice GTS-Lite 240 also 29mmm thick, so which rad did you use? and how the temp like with the slim rad? also which fans did you use? sorry for all this questions matey, i though the TJ07 will be pretty easy to do water cooling, but maybe not...but big Thank for your advices mate, at least i now know what option to take...Thank again

ps if you can upload some pics of your setup that will be great...

Best Regards
Tony

I'm currently using the Aquacomputer Airplex PRO 240 with two Yate Loon D12SM-12C slim fans. I'm very happy with my current setup in the TJ07. My brother had brought the new case home for me from work and didn't cost a single penny!

My digital room thermometer usually tells me the temperature. On a usual day where room temp is around 20 degrees celcius, the idle temps are:

CPU: 34
GPU: 36

And at the moment, room temp is 26 degrees celcius, idle temps are:

CPU: 37
GPU: 39

Here are the photos. Sorry it took a while, had to dig out my camera and charge the battery.

This is what my system looks like from the outside.

The Aquacomputer Airplex PRO 240 sandwiched in the mesh grille and slim fan.

The back end of the rad and the corner of the motherboard tray. If you can see, you don't need to modify the corner of the tray!

And here you can see the tiny clearance between the fan and the motherboard!!

Hope this helps and feel free to ask anything. Good luck and better yet, have fun building your PC. Can't wait to see some results!!
